What the class covers
- Michigan firearms law and when you may use force
- Safe handling, storage and transport
- Pistol fundamentals: grip, stance and sight picture
- Live fire range session with one on one coaching
What is included
- All classroom materials
- Loaner pistol and ammunition if you need them
- Range time with your instructor
- Your CPL certificate, issued the same day
What costs extra
- $20 range fee and targets, paid on class day
- $100 state CPL application fee plus fingerprinting, about $115 total, paid to your county when you apply
What to bring
- A valid state ID
- Closed-toe shoes and comfortable clothes
- A way to take notes
- Eye and ear protection provided if you do not have your own

Balance of $80 plus $20 range fee and targets due on the day of class, cash or credit. Your deposit reserves your seat.
Common questions
Do I need any experience?
No. Beginners are welcome, and many of our students are shooting for the first time. You will be coached one on one at your own pace.
Do I need my own gun?
No. A loaner pistol and ammunition are available for the range portion at no extra charge.
What happens after class?
You leave with your certificate the same day. Take it to your county clerk with the $100 application fee plus a fingerprinting fee, submit your fingerprints, and your license arrives in the mail.
What if I cannot make it?
